OUR MISSION STATEMENT
Using music to promote peace and forge connections in conflicted communities, making war an unacceptable option for the future.
War
Today, there are over 30 wars currently terrorizing millions of innocent people across the world. The Russian invasion of Ukraine is a daily graphic reminder of the unnecessary cruelty being inflicted on innocent people, women & children. Indescribable suffering, injury, death, millions displaced, homes and communities ravaged by war, families torn apart……lives broken.
The horrific atrocities being committed in Israel and Palestine are sad illustrations of the depth of shameful depravity human beings can inflict on each other.
We are using our voice to promote peace and end wars.

Music has an answer
“I was invited to participate in a series of ‘Building blocks to Peace’ workshops, with Israelis and Palestinians, to help solve communal problems like sewage, water, power and security. It was exciting, an opportunity to make a small contribution to peace. Five years later we were back in Jerusalem, the city of peace! It was 2017. But as happened many times progress was being blocked, and it was becoming clear that another brilliant initiative was doomed to failure because of political strangulation. The powers kept talking the talk, while the ordinary people suffered and nothing changed….. That evening we were privileged to meet with a gathering of young Israeli and Palestinian musicians. 5 minutes together and everything changed….The music took over, smiles and laughter replaced anxiety and fear. It was a lightbulb moment. it really struck home, music does have a power to cross boundaries, build bridges and convey the spirit of peace through its own language. I realized that all these young people and talented artists who represent the majority just needed a voice to help build a better life for themselves and their families and through music talk across societies divides. At that moment The Bridge was born.”

The influence of Music

peace movement of the 60’s
Music is the one common language that unifies people and brings them closer together. It can motivate millions of people as evidenced by the music inspired peace movement of the 60’s which helped to end the Vietnam war.

Live Aid
Live Aid raised awareness of famine in Africa, through music, and generated over €200 million in donations. This fundraising and aid alleviated the suffering of tens of millions of starving people.

Universal language
Music is an art, an emotion, enabling communities to engage through a universal language, connecting people and building bridges of awareness and love.
