THE MUSICAL
THE BRIDGE core is an anti-war live stage & music experience inspired, developed, and performed by a new generation of creative talent, young international artists demanding change. Much of the creativity originates in war torn countries, conflict zones and in underprivileged communities.

mission
The mission of the creative team is to deliver an epic live experience of the highest creative and production values that tells a real story and has the potential to take its message on tour around the world. Perhaps even to play on Broadway or in London’s West End.
performance
Each performance must be entertaining, emotionally charged and provocative. A visually inspiring live event with incredible staging, acting, dance, and song. We want to leave each audience, motivated, inspired and feeling they need to take up the challenge and be invested in a need for change.

The story and the stage vision
Our Creative Director, Alan Lane is overseeing the development of the stage vision and the story that is evolving into the musical.
James Phillips is writing the story with a working title of The Garden, inspired by the Joni Mitchell song.
‘And I dreamed I saw the bombers
Riding shotgun in the sky
And they were turning into butterflies
Above our nation
We are stardust
Billion-year-old carbon
We are golden
Caught in the devil’s bargain
And we’ve got to get ourselves
Back to the garden’
Joni Mitchell, “Woodstock”
THE CREATIVE JOURNEY
Over 50 talented young composers, songwriters, lyricists and singers have been contributing to the development of the music, songs, and lyrics. They come from 20+ countries including countries affected by war, conflict, and terror. including Israel, Palestine, and Ireland.
Our creative focus connected us with artistic talent still recovering and reconciling from the troubles in Ireland, where we hosted a 5-week in-residence creative workshop in 2021.

Our journey also brought us to Israel and Palestine, two countries plagued by wars. During the Covid years the artists connected, engaged together online and produced some wonderful works and musical pieces.

In 2024 we held a weeklong workshop with emerging artists from the Leeds Conservatoire in the Slung Low warehouse, theatre space in Holbeck, a disadvantaged UK community enriched by the Slung Low team led by Alan Lane.

More recently we journeyed to Ukraine where the local people are suffering terribly, families devastated and with over 6 million refugees having to leave their country. A small concert for peace was held in a local Lviv venue and featured local Ukrainian artists, joined on stage with artists from Rome, Italy and Ireland
